TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's supermarket chain PX Mart (全聯) announced Friday (March 28) that RT-Mart (大潤發) hypermarkets will be rebranded as "Super PX Mart" (大全聯), consolidating the company's retail operations under a unified brand identity. Liu Hung-cheng (劉鴻徴), marketing associate manager at PX Mart, unveiled preliminary designs for the new store signage while explaining that the straightforward naming strategy aims to create instant recognition and memorability among Taiwanese consumers.

The reimagined Super PX Mart locations will serve as neighborhood retail hubs offering comprehensive shopping experiences beyond traditional grocery services, according to Liu. Each location will feature expansive food courts complemented by dedicated zones for pharmaceuticals, footwear, and household essentials. The strategic store layout will showcase curated displays of fresh produce and prepared foods alongside specialized sections for electronics, imported goods, and an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages, creating a one-stop shopping destination for local communities.

PX Mart Chairman Lin Ming-hsiung (林敏雄) expressed confidence in the company's trajectory, pointing to consistent annual revenue growth of approximately NT$10 billion (around US$303 million). During the announcement, Lin emphasized the retailer's commitment to enhancing both its digital platforms and physical store operations, highlighting that delivery times currently average less than 30 minutes while the company actively works to resolve persistent inventory management challenges that have occasionally frustrated shoppers.

The retail giant's digital payment platform, PX Pay, has already attracted more than 5.5 million members, representing a significant portion of Taiwan's adult population. Lin revealed ambitious international expansion plans targeting Thailand and Vietnam, though he noted that security measures including dual identification requirements would remain standard for account registration. With its existing network of 1,210 stores supplemented by 20 RT-Mart locations, PX Mart reported 2024 revenue of NT$210 billion (approximately US$6.36 billion) and projects 2025 earnings to reach NT$220 billion (around US$6.67 billion), further cementing its position as Taiwan's retail powerhouse.
