TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The "360° MOBILITY Mega Shows," combining Taipei AMPA and 2035 E-Mobility Taiwan (台灣國際智慧移動展) with Autotronics Taipei (台北國際車用電子展), recently concluded, showcasing electric vehicle trends and Taiwan's growing potential in this industrial landscape.

Hon Hai Group (鴻海集團), widely known as Foxconn, has developed an open electric vehicle platform called the Mobility In Harmony Open EV Platform (MIH). This innovative foundation allows clients to customize vehicles while sharing a common base, significantly reducing automakers' research and development costs and time. The platform has already attracted several automotive manufacturers seeking collaboration opportunities.

The Model C, currently distributed in North America, exemplifies the MIH platform's successful implementation, while a prototype of the Model D has also been unveiled. Hon Hai Group Spokesperson James Wu (巫俊毅) explains the industry shift, noting that electric components constitute approximately 50% of EV systems, effectively transforming vehicles into electronic products — a transition that particularly benefits electronics companies like Foxconn.

Model B, first introduced by Foxconn Chairman Young Liu (劉揚偉) alongside NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) during Hon Hai Tech Day 2024 (鴻海科技日), is positioned to become Foxconn's flagship product for 2025. The vehicle is scheduled for a mid-year launch with promising market prospects.

Advanced driver assistance systems emerged as a highlight of the exhibition, featuring artificial intelligence capabilities that identify drivers through physical features like eyes and nose. While Foxconn's Model B and Model C garnered significant attention, charging station technologies also stood out as crucial infrastructure components.

The exhibition reinforced that electric and new energy vehicles have become inevitable elements of future lifestyles and transportation systems, with Taiwan positioning itself as a key player in this evolving ecosystem.
