TAIPEI (TVBS News) — EVA Air (長榮航空) announced on Thursday (May 8) the launch of the 2025 EVA Air Marathon, set to commence on Oct. 26 in front of the Presidential Office (總統府). Registration opens on Thursday at 5 p.m. The event will feature a full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer, and 3-kilometer races, offering 24,000 spots.
General Manager Sun Chia-ming (孫嘉明) noted last year's participation exceeded expectations, drawing over 24,000 runners from 40 countries. The marathon, certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), stands among Taiwan's few AIMS-certified events. This year, the marathon will offer training classes in Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Hsinchu for 10-kilometer, half-marathon, and full-marathon events, guided by five coaches.
EVA Air plans to collaborate with Trinfinity Sports and Nike Social Community Impact to donate sports shoes to "Hualien Faith and Hope Youth Academy" (花蓮信望愛少年學園) and Onesiphorus Children's Home, inviting them to participate for free. Sun stated that the company is committed to positively impacting the community. Participants can look forward to various raffle prizes, including 10 international flight tickets to destinations in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Asia, as well as 20 domestic flights on UNI Air (立榮航空).
