TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Changhua County Government (彰化縣政府), a local administrative body in central Taiwan, unveiled plans on Monday (June 9) for an ambitious new summer attraction called "Water Park in Khanm An" (慶安水樂園). The aquatic-themed festival will operate every Saturday from July 5 to Aug. 10, offering residents and tourists alike a refreshing escape from Taiwan's notoriously humid summer heat. County officials emphasized that the initiative serves dual purposes: providing family-friendly recreation while simultaneously boosting the region's tourism economy.

In a detailed press release, county officials outlined an impressive array of water sports available to participants, including stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, water cycling, and dragon boat-style paddleboarding designed to accommodate various skill levels. The government particularly emphasized the special night paddleboarding sessions, which will provide participants with spectacular illuminated views of the Western Coastal White Dolphin House (西濱白色海豚屋), an architectural landmark along Taiwan's western shoreline. The carefully curated selection of activities has been designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring visitors of all ages and abilities can participate safely.

Furthermore, the county government announced that families and friend groups can enjoy four-seater pedal boats equipped with protective sunshades, offering a more relaxed alternative for those seeking a leisurely experience on the water. Beyond aquatic activities, organizers have planned a vibrant summer music festival featuring performances by local student ensembles, established regional bands, and the rising Gen Z musical group "Good Band" (好樂團), which has been gaining popularity among younger Taiwanese audiences. County officials explained that these cultural performances serve dual purposes: enhancing the festive atmosphere while providing valuable exposure for emerging local artists.

The county government has also created special incentives for the July 5 opening celebration, offering attendees who arrive wearing Hawaiian shirts a complimentary limited-edition swimming ring-shaped cup holder along with a non-alcoholic beverage, subject to availability. The inaugural evening will reach its climax with a spectacular six-minute fireworks display launched from the Changhua County Natural Ecology Education Center (彰化自然生態教育中心), a local environmental education facility. Officials anticipate that the pyrotechnics reflecting off the water's surface will create a mesmerizing visual experience, establishing the event as a highlight of Taiwan's summer festival calendar. ◼
