NEW YORK (TVBS News) — Brad Pitt revealed the high-octane thrills of filming his new Formula One racing movie during an exclusive interview with TVBS on Wednesday. The Hollywood star described shooting scenes on the actual racing grid moments before real races as an "exciting endeavor" that brings unprecedented authenticity to the film.

"To be amongst the drivers, to be trying to shoot scenes on the grid right before the race is going to start. We get two takes at it, and it's just really exciting, exciting endeavor," Pitt said. The actor, who plays a veteran driver making a comeback to the sport, emphasized the film's underdog narrative that resonates beyond the racetrack.

"It's certainly an underdog story at its heart and, you know, it's like, how if you were competing with a deficit, how can you make the best of the cards you've been dealt with so you can be competitive, because it means so much to everyone," he explained.

The production team gained unprecedented access to actual Formula One events, allowing them to capture the authentic atmosphere of the high-stakes racing environment. This approach mirrors the success of director Joe Kaczynski's previous work, which blended real-world settings with dramatic storytelling.

Pitt highlighted the extensive three-year collaboration with Kaczynski that went into creating the film, which he enthusiastically recommends to Taiwanese audiences. "This has been a three-year endeavor. Started with Joe Kaczynski, an idea on how to follow up Top Gun. I think he's done it brilliantly. This movie is so much fun. It's a great summer movie. And really happy now, after all this work that we get to share it now," Pitt said.

The film, which combines practical effects with cutting-edge visual technology, represents one of the most ambitious racing movies ever produced, with a reported production budget exceeding US$140 million (approximately NT$4.04 billion). Industry analysts predict the film could become one of the summer's biggest blockbusters when it releases next month, potentially rivaling the success of previous sports-themed action dramas in international markets.
