TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Louisa Coffee (路易莎咖啡), Taiwan's largest domestic coffee chain, unveiled ambitious plans on Thursday (July 3) to build a sprawling new headquarters in Xinzhuang District (新莊區), a rapidly developing commercial area in New Taipei City. The company's board has greenlit an investment of NT$592 million (approximately US$20.5 million) for the facility, which will feature a modern eleven-story structure with nine floors above ground and two basement levels, covering 577 ping (roughly 1,908 square meters) of floor space. Company officials indicated the expansive complex will consolidate production facilities, logistics operations, and corporate offices under one roof.
The coffee giant has enlisted Lih Hwa Construction (立華營造公司), a well-established Taiwanese construction firm, to develop the headquarters according to a carefully calibrated timeline designed to support the company's expanding operations. Financial documents reveal Louisa Coffee has already benefited substantially from efficiencies generated by its central manufacturing facility, which helped the chain achieve an impressive 46.27% gross profit margin throughout 2024. The company's upward trajectory continued into 2025, with Louisa Coffee posting unprecedented quarterly revenue of NT$645 million (approximately US$22.4 million) during the year's first three months.
During the announcement, Chairman Huang Ming-hsien (黃銘賢) outlined an ambitious vision for the company's trajectory, emphasizing plans to consolidate revenue streams across multiple brands while accelerating the chain's push into Taiwan's competitive prepared food sector. Huang projected confidence about maintaining double-digit growth throughout 2025 despite economic headwinds affecting the broader retail sector. Industry analysts view the headquarters investment as a pivotal development in Louisa Coffee's evolution from a local chain to a diversified food and beverage powerhouse, underscoring the company's strong financial foundation and aggressive market expansion strategy. ◼
