TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署) has issued a weather alert for Taiwan, predicting unstable conditions due to a large low-pressure system starting Saturday (July 26), on Friday (July 25). The administration reported July 25 that northern regions will experience showers or thunderstorms early on July 26, while Yilan and central and southern areas may see brief showers or thunderstorms.
Currently, the Pacific Ocean hosts two typhoons and a tropical depression: Typhoon Co-May, Typhoon Krosa, and Tropical Depression TD10. Typhoon Juketsusou, centered 590 kilometers south of Eluanbi (鵝鑾鼻) at 2 a.m. Friday, is expected to weaken. The CWA advises caution for vessels in the South China Sea and Bashi Channel.
CWA mentioned the possibility of strong winds persisting. From July 25 to July 27, Lanyu (蘭嶼), Green Island (綠島), and Keelung may experience winds exceeding a force of 6 or gusts over 8. Long waves could occur along the northern coast, eastern regions, and Matsu (馬祖), with 1.5 to 2.5 meters wave heights observed in New Taipei City and Yilan. Furthermore, the CWA noted that Typhoon Krosa remains distant, posing no direct threat to Taiwan's weather.
