TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA, 中華籃協), Taiwan's national basketball governing body, unveiled the 12-man roster for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Thursday (July 31), marking the international debut of Taiwanese-American brothers Adam Tsang Hinton and Robert Tsang Hinton. The prestigious tournament will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from Saturday (Aug. 5) to Sunday (Aug. 17). Taiwan's squad enters the competition seeking to establish itself among Asia's basketball elite.

Team captain Liu Cheng (劉錚), veteran guard Ray Chen (陳盈駿), and rising star Lin Ting-qian (林庭謙) will lead Taiwan's charge for a strong tournament performance. Key players Hu Lung-mao (胡瓏貿), Al Bachir, Kao Chin-wei (高錦瑋), and Ma Chien-hao (馬建豪) will return to international competition after missing the Jones Cup due to injuries. Their return strengthens Taiwan's depth and experience heading into the challenging regional championship.

Notably absent from the roster are P. League+ (PLG), Taiwan's professional basketball league, stars, including two-time MVP Lu Jun-hsiang (盧峻翔), who will miss the tournament due to injury. The team will rely heavily on its experienced guards, including Ray Chen, Lin Ting-qian, and Kao Chin-wei, along with versatile forwards like Liu Cheng and newcomer Adam Tsang Hinton, to make a significant impact in Saudi Arabia. ◼
