TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Typhoon Ragasa (樺加沙) has moved away from Taiwan, bringing partly cloudy to sunny skies across most regions Thursday (Sept. 25). Meteorologist Lin De-en (林得恩) announced the development on his Facebook page "Mr. Lin's Weather Station," providing updated weather forecasts for residents. The typhoon's departure signals improving conditions and clearer skies for Taiwan's population after the storm's passage. Weather authorities confirm the typhoon no longer poses a direct threat to the island nation.

The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署), Taiwan's national weather service, confirmed Typhoon Ragasa has weakened into a mild storm Thursday. East-southeast wind patterns will reduce moisture levels across the island, officials reported. Sporadic showers may still occur in southeastern areas, the Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島), and parts of northern and eastern coastal regions despite the overall improvement in weather conditions. Meteorologists continue monitoring the storm's movement and its diminishing impact on Taiwan's weather patterns.

Temperatures across Taiwan have risen, reaching highs of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius (89.6 to 95°F), with northern regions possibly exceeding 36 degrees Celsius (96.8°F). Outlying islands including Penghu, Kinmen (金門), and Matsu (馬祖) will experience varying conditions with temperatures ranging from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius (80.6 to 89.6°F). Weather authorities expect these elevated temperatures to continue as atmospheric pressure systems shift across the region following the typhoon's departure from Taiwan.

The CWA, Taiwan's national weather service, clarified that Typhoon Neoguri (浣熊) remains too distant to impact Taiwan directly. Typhoon Bualoi (博羅依) will pass through the Philippines into the South China Sea without affecting Taiwan's main island. Typhoon Bualoi could generate long waves along Taiwan's coastal areas starting Friday (Sept. 26), though the storm poses no direct threat to residents. Weather officials continue monitoring both typhoons' movements and potential secondary effects on Taiwan's maritime conditions.

The CWA predicts hot daytime temperatures between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius (91.4 to 95°F) during the Teachers' Day long weekend from Saturday (Sept. 27) to Monday (Sept. 29). Eastern regions and Hengchun may experience sporadic showers throughout the holiday period, while western mountain areas should prepare for afternoon thunderstorms. Weather authorities advise residents to plan outdoor activities accordingly as atmospheric conditions remain variable despite the overall improvement in weather patterns following Typhoon Ragasa's departure from Taiwan. ◼
