TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Ming Chuan University (銘傳大學) unveiled its 15-member Public Service Corps Thursday (Sept. 25) for Taiwan's upcoming National Day ceremony. The team comprises 11 women and four men trained to serve as guides and hosts at the Central Podium (中央主席台). Students underwent rigorous preparation to perform their ceremonial duties for government officials and distinguished guests attending the national celebration. The university has maintained this tradition of providing professional service personnel for the annual patriotic event.
Female team leader Huang Yu-ling (黃茟姈) reported enhanced training beyond basic posture and speech instruction for the ceremonial duties. The team received additional preparation addressing current events, including power bank combustion incidents that could occur during public gatherings. Students increased stamina training to maintain excellent posture throughout the lengthy National Day ceremony, ensuring a professional appearance for the duration of the formal event. The comprehensive preparation reflects the university's commitment to delivering exceptional service standards.
Male team leader Feng Jen-yuan (馮任遠) emphasized increased focus on verbal communication skills to handle inquiries and unexpected situations during the ceremony. He attributed his resemblance to Japanese baseball player Shohei Ohtani (大谷翔平) to his eyes when smiling. Feng stated he maintains Ohtani's discipline and perseverance while aiming to provide warm service to all officials and guests attending the National Day event. The team leader's approach reflects the professional standards expected for the prestigious assignment.
Returning member Cheng Yung-an (鄭永安) expressed honor in serving again after receiving comparisons to South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook (池昌旭). He attributed the resemblance to similarities in their deeper-set eyes when observers made the comparison. Cheng stated that last year's experience, combined with ongoing training, prepares the team to deliver perfect service and ensure every guest feels at home during the National Day ceremony. The veteran member brings valuable experience to the student service corps.
