TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei 101 (台北101) will host a National Day fireworks and drone display Friday (Oct. 10) at 10 p.m., marking the first-time collaboration with 500 drones. Janet Chia (賈永婕), chairperson of Taipei 101, described the preparation process as immensely stressful for the event themed 'Gen. TAIWAN.Our Moment.' The celebration symbolizes Taiwan's ongoing rise in various fields.
Chia recommended optimal viewing spots at Citizen Square in front of Taipei City Hall (台北市政府) and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (國父紀念館). She cautioned that viewing from too high or too far might obstruct the spectacle. Xinyi Police Precinct will implement traffic controls and enhance guidance around the event area to ensure safety.
Nantou will host the 2025 National Day Fireworks for the first time, with the main venue along Maoluo River banks near Nantou County Expo Center (南投縣會展中心). The fireworks commence at 8 p.m. Oct. 10, promising the grandest display in nearly a decade. The show features over 30,000 fireworks across 12 themed segments, designed with "Colorful Ink Fireworks."
The event will feature live music from renowned Taiwanese DJs DJ Swallow (妖嬌) and MR.GIN. Performances by artists Kimberley Chen Fang-yu (陳芳語), Ben Wu (吳思賢), and music band Saturnday will follow the fireworks. ◼
