Weather expert Chia Hsin-hsing (賾新興) from Taiwan Integrated Disaster Prevention of Technology Engineering Consultant Co., Ltd. (台灣整合防災工程技術顧問公司) warned this system exceeds its predecessor's intensity.
Chia announced through social media platforms Facebook and YouTube that Taiwan faces diminished monsoon conditions Friday (Oct. 10). The meteorologist predicted Yilan's northern coastline and mountainous terrain would encounter intermittent precipitation. Despite the northeast monsoon's anticipated weakening Saturday (Oct. 11), mountain regions may continue experiencing afternoon rainfall.
Multiple regions spanning Taoyuan through Taichung, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Yilan face potential afternoon precipitation Sunday (Oct. 12). Coastal zones south of Tainan and Hsinchu anticipate similar conditions Monday (Oct. 13), while Kaohsiung confronts isolated rainfall Tuesday (Oct. 14). Mountain areas south of Miaoli expect afternoon showers, with scattered precipitation continuing Wednesday (Oct. 15) and northern Taiwan experiencing sporadic afternoon rain Thursday (Oct. 16).
Chia identified an intensified northeast monsoon system emerging Saturday (Oct. 18), targeting areas north of Taoyuan and throughout Yilan County. Mountain regions south of Hsinchu and Chiayi may encounter brief afternoon rainfall during this period.
