TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's main international gateway will close key access roads to Terminal 2 departures this weekend for emergency construction work. Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan's busiest aviation hub, announced Wednesday (Oct. 8) that specific lanes near Terminal 2's third-floor departure area will close from Sunday (Oct. 13) to Monday (Oct. 14) for southward traffic route modifications.

Construction crews will work from 10 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 13) to 4 a.m. Monday (Oct. 14), forcing complete closure of Terminal South Road access to Terminal 2's third-floor departure level. Airport officials directed travelers to use alternative routing via West Fourth Road through the P4 parking facility during the six-hour construction window.

Airport authorities urged travelers to follow directional signage and staff guidance meticulously during the construction period. Officials emphasized the importance of cautious driving and early departure times to prevent delays, while requesting public patience and understanding throughout the temporary traffic disruption.

Airport management strongly recommended public transportation alternatives, particularly national highway bus services, to minimize travel disruption and reduce parking costs. Officials advised passengers to monitor the airport's official website for real-time construction updates and traffic information throughout the weekend closure period. ◼
