TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan prepares to celebrate its National Day Friday (Oct. 10) with an unprecedented blend of traditional and innovative performances. The National Day Preparatory Committee, Taiwan's official celebration organizing body, has orchestrated diverse festivities featuring debut performances, including the New Taipei City Police Department Mounted Police Unit (新北市政府警察局騎警隊) showcasing eight horses in their ceremonial premiere.

First-time participants will energize the celebration, including the Marine Corps Band (海軍陸戰隊樂隊), Thunder Tiger Aerobatic team (空軍雷虎特技小組), and Meiho University (美和科技大學熊鷹儀隊). The Tung-Yuan Elementary School (東園國小) Little League team, Taiwan's 2025 World Series champions from Williamsport, will showcase their historic victory during the national festivities.

Traditional elements anchor the celebration as the Ministry of National Defense Military Bands and Honor Guard (國防部聯合樂隊暨三軍儀隊) maintain their ceremonial performance role. A helicopter will display Taiwan's giant national flag over the Presidential Office Building, Taiwan's seat of executive power, preserving the signature aerial tribute that defines the annual National Day program. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$30.518)
