The festivities marked a significant homecoming for the annual event, with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜), Taiwan's parliament leader, and Taichung Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen (盧秀燕) leading the national anthem. Legislator Kao Chin, Su-Mei (高金素梅), a member of Taiwan's parliament, delivered the night's standout moment by returning to perform her hit "The Last Lover" after decades away from the stage. President Lai injected humor into the festivities by playfully teasing Legislative Speaker Han, Taiwan's parliament leader, during his speech, joking that "Han's hair seems less than last year" while praising his organizational efforts.
