TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) confirmed Tuesday (Oct. 21) that Lin Hsin-i (林信義), chairman of Taiwania Capital Management Corporation (台杉投資管理顧問公司), will represent Taiwan at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum. The meeting will take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 in Gyeongju, South Korea, where Lin will convey Taiwan's three main propositions to the international community.
Lai emphasized Taiwan's commitment to collaborating with other nations to promote regional economic and trade development. He also highlighted Taiwan's willingness to share its pioneering industry experiences and accelerate people-centric AI development, aligning with APEC's shared vision. Lai expressed confidence in Lin's ability to strengthen exchanges on common concerns and create cooperation opportunities among APEC members.
This year's APEC theme, "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow," aligns with Taiwan's policy goals, focusing on connectivity, innovation, and prosperity. Lai hopes to promote prosperity through deepening regional cooperation and innovation. Meanwhile, Lin stressed Taiwan's solid foundation in semiconductors, digital technology, and SME development, especially in AI.
Lin pledged to communicate Lai's three directives at the APEC meeting. He plans to actively share Taiwan's achievements in AI innovation and digital health collaboration, showcasing Taiwan as a good, reliable, and responsible partner in the international community. Through these efforts, Lin aimed to garner more international support and friendship for Taiwan.
