TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (台北市長蔣萬安) confirmed on Wednesday (Oct. 29) that NVIDIA (輝達) will establish its overseas headquarters at the Bei Shih Ke T17 and T18 sites. During a morning video conference with NVIDIA headquarters, officials reached three key conclusions to expedite the process.
Chiang stated that NVIDIA clearly expressed its intention to set up its headquarters at the specified location. NVIDIA also requested that the Taipei City Government quickly reach an agreement with Shin Kong Life Insurance (新光人壽) to terminate their existing contract. Chiang emphasized the city's commitment to initiating urban planning changes and other administrative procedures swiftly to facilitate NVIDIA's establishment in Taipei.
Taipei Deputy Mayor Li Ssu-chuan (台北市副市長李四川) revealed that the city aims to finalize the termination process with Shin Kong Life Insurance by next week. Shin Kong Life Insurance assured that it will promptly report any updates as they occur.
This strategic move could significantly boost Taipei's position as a tech hub, attracting further international investments. Stakeholders and the public will closely watch the developments, anticipating NVIDIA's successful integration into the city's vibrant tech landscape.
