TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A northeast monsoon brought cooler weather to Taiwan Friday (Oct. 31), triggering temperature drops and scattered showers across northern regions. Meteorologist Wu Der-romg (吳德榮) reported the cold air system affects northern Taiwan significantly.
Weekend forecasts predict brief showers along northern coasts, Yilan, and Hualien Saturday (Nov. 1) and Sunday (Nov. 2). Wu highlighted northern Taiwan temperatures could drop to 19 degrees Celsius (66°F) during this period.
Increased atmospheric moisture will expand rain coverage across northern and eastern Taiwan Monday (Nov. 3) and Tuesday (Nov. 4). Another powerful northeast monsoon wave arrives Wednesday (Nov. 5) and Thursday (Nov. 6).
TyTech Taiwan Weather Express (台灣颱風論壇|天氣特急) warned of stronger cool air bringing first sub-20-degree Celsius (68°F) temperatures to northern Taiwan. Central and southern Taiwan will experience minimal impact, maintaining warm daytime conditions with significant day-night temperature variations. ◼
