TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Water Corporation (台水公司) announced Friday (Oct. 31) a planned 11-hour water outage affecting 33,000 Kaohsiung households Nov. 6. The outage runs 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with 5,000 additional households experiencing reduced pressure. The disruption targets multiple districts for infrastructure maintenance.
Affected areas include Fengshan District (鳳山區), Hefa Industrial Zone (和發工業區,和春基地), Wanda Industrial Zone (萬大工業區), Daliao District (大寮區), and Dashu District (大樹區). Daliao District's Zhongzhuang (中庄) and Qianzhuang (前庄) neighborhoods will experience reduced pressure for 13 hours. Normal pressure resumes by 10 p.m. in these neighborhoods.
The Corporation warned elevated areas may experience delayed water supply restoration. Affected locations include Kai-Syuan Psychiatric Hospital (凱旋醫院大寮百合園區), Shan-Ding Elementary School (山頂國小), and Jinxue Road Public Health Center (進學路衛生所). Zhengqi Road (正氣路) and Chung Shan Industrial School (中山工商) also face potential delays.
The company advised residents to store water six hours before the outage and turn off water pump power. Other Kaohsiung areas will maintain normal supply during maintenance. Residents may experience slower pressure recovery at pipeline ends, high-rise buildings, and elevated locations.
