TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) launched in Belém (貝倫), Brazil, on Monday (Nov. 10), with the STUF United Fund Inc. (世台聯合基金會) unveiling a thematic pavilion in the Green Zone. The pavilion, dubbed "STUF United Pavilion: Sustainability in Action," reflects STUF's commitment to fostering international cooperation and promoting sustainable practices.

With special consultative status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) and official observer status at The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) , STUF showcases Asia's innovative spirit and collaborative energy in sustainable transformation. The pavilion, which has access to the Blue Zone meetings, aims to connect global sustainability partners and will remain open until Nov. 21. It focuses on six major themes: nature and biodiversity, climate adaptation, energy transition, sustainable finance, gender equality, and social innovation.

STUF emphasizes its dedication to creating an international platform that links businesses, academia, research institutions, and social innovation organizations. The pavilion's opening ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday (Nov. 11), aims to foster more transnational cooperation and tangible partnerships, allowing Asia’s sustainable initiatives to shine globally. Shen Hsin-pei (申心蓓), the COP30 project leader for STUF, stated the organization plans to continue focusing on partnerships to connect enterprises, academia, and communities. As COP30 progresses, STUF remains committed to amplifying Asia's sustainable efforts on the world stage.

MEanwhile, Taiwan has formally announced its "2035 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0)" in alignment with international standards. Although not a signatory to the UNFCCC, Taiwan voluntarily adheres to the convention's norms, presenting its efforts and achievements in carbon reduction and sustainable transformation to the international community. This initiative echoes the "Global Mutirão" spirit of COP30, working together toward net-zero sustainability.
