TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Railway Corporation (台鐵) resumes train operations Thursday (Nov. 13) after Fung-wong (颱風) weakened. The Central Weather Administration (中央氣象署) lifted typhoon warnings at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 12) after the storm became a tropical depression. Fung-wong made landfall in Hengchun (恆春) Township, Pingtung County (屏東縣), at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Eastern, Western, and South Link lines will resume normal operations before noon Friday (Nov. 14). The route between Su'ao (蘇澳) and Su'ao xin (蘇澳新) stations remains affected by erosion damage. Trains No. 4007, 4003, and 4113 will depart from Su'ao xin Station while Mountain Mist Scenic Train (山嵐號) services face one-day suspension.
The Pingxi (平溪) Line will provide full-day road shuttles while other branch lines operate normally. Shen'ao (深澳), Neiwan (內灣), Jiji (集集), and Shalun (沙崙) lines continue regular service Thursday. Taiwan Railway Corporation offers full refunds without handling charges for unused typhoon-period tickets within one year. ◼
