TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Japanese actor and singer Tomohisa Yamashita (山下智久) arrived at Taipei Songshan Airport (松山機場) Friday (Nov. 14) to massive fan crowds. Seven hundred fans gathered at the airport, with some arriving at 4 a.m. to secure prime viewing spots. The 40-year-old star travels to Taiwan for his first fan meeting in 14 years, scheduled for Saturday (Nov. 15) at Legacy TERA in Nangang District (南港).
Yamashita handled his own luggage and dressed casually upon arrival. The actor removed his bucket hat and sunglasses to bow politely to media and wave to fans. His gracious interactions with supporters demonstrated the humility that has maintained his popularity across international markets.
All three consecutive fan meetings starting Saturday (Nov. 15) have sold out completely. The events mark Yamashita's first Taiwan fan meetings in 14 years, explaining the extraordinary anticipation among local supporters. The actor plans a three-day stay in Taiwan for the rare fan interaction opportunity. ◼
