TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署), Taiwan's national weather bureau, issued a strong wind advisory Wednesday (Nov. 26) for multiple regions across Taiwan. The advisory covers New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, and other areas from Wednesday morning through Thursday (Nov. 27) evening. Authorities warn of potential gusts exceeding level 8 on the Beaufort scale (62–74 km/h).
The administration predicts cooler temperatures in northern, northeastern, and eastern Taiwan, with scattered showers expected in these regions Wednesday. Moisture levels will increase Wednesday evening, bringing brief showers to the north, east, and Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島), a southern peninsula. Isolated rain may hit southern and central mountainous areas as weather systems move across the island.
The CWA advised caution as wind speeds could average above level 6 on the Beaufort scale (39–49 km/h), risking debris from unsecured structures. Northern temperatures, including Yilan County, may range from 15 to 17 degrees Celsius (59–63°F), while southern and eastern regions may see 18 to 20 degrees Celsius (64–68°F). Daytime highs will reach 20 to 22 degrees Celsius (68–72°F) in the north and 25 to 27 degrees Celsius (77–81°F) in central and southern areas. ◼
