TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Event organizer SuperDome (超級圓頂) apologized Thursday (Nov. 27) after its ticketing system crashed during sales for Taiwanese pop star Jolin Tsai's (蔡依林) Taipei concerts. The system failure occurred Nov. 23 when fans rushed to buy tickets for her three-day "Pleasure World Tour" (PLEASURE世界巡迴演唱會) at Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) starting Dec. 30. Failed transactions sparked cyberattack allegations from frustrated fans.
SuperDome confirmed that day it is cooperating with Taiwan's Criminal Investigation Bureau's (刑事警察局) investigation into a possible cyberattack on its ticketing platform. The system faced over 940,000 simultaneous users when ticket sales for Jolin Tsai's concerts opened Nov. 23. Following widespread criticism from frustrated fans, SuperDome announced plans to implement a real-name ticketing system for all future Jolin Tsai concert sales.
SuperDome has requested KKTIX, the ticketing platform operator, to provide all evidence related to the alleged cyberattack and assist Taiwan's Criminal Investigation Bureau with its ongoing probe. The event organizer pledged to enhance future ticket purchasing systems and procedures to prevent similar technical failures during high-demand concert sales. The company thanked fans for their patience and understanding during the investigation process. ◼
