TAIPEI (TVBS News) — HTC (宏達國際電子股份有限公司) expanded its retail network to over 336 locations across Taiwan following surging demand for its VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses. The company announced Monday (Dec. 22) partnerships with Kobayashi Optical (小林眼鏡) and Taiwan Mobile (台灣大哥大) that add 76 myfone stores to its distribution network. The expansion brings AI smart glasses demonstrations to major metropolitan areas, transport hubs, and local communities nationwide.

HTC's collaboration with Kobayashi Optical introduces demonstration services and professional consultations at over 30 optical stores across Taiwan. The 76 myfone stores operated by Taiwan Mobile cover key commercial and residential areas throughout the island. The expanded partnerships make AI smart glasses more accessible to consumers in metropolitan areas, major transport hubs, and local communities nationwide.

HTC and its partners created "AI experience corners" at these retail locations offering real-time demonstrations of smart translation, AI photography, voice assistance, smart reading, and environmental recognition features. Store manager Chen Wan-ling (陳菀綾) praised the glasses for their stylish design and integrated AI assistant capabilities available to consumers. The AI features include photography, music playback, and translation functions for daily use.

Consumers can purchase the VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses in four colors — red, brown, gray, and black — for NT$15,600 (around US$495). Each pair features premium ZEISS optics and comes available in sunglasses or blue-light filtering lenses for different needs. Chen said travelers, photographers, and office workers show significant interest, appreciating the fashionable appearance and comprehensive Chinese language support. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$31.5)
