TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Yunlin County Government announced plans to host the "Singing an Era into Teresa Teng — Teresa Teng Concert" (把時代唱成鄧麗君-鄧麗君音樂會) on Jan. 24 at the Yunlin Performance Hall (雲林表演廳) to honor the international superstar born in Yunlin County. County Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善) shared the upcoming event during a press conference on Monday (Jan. 12), emphasizing the concert's goal to preserve Teng's legacy.

Chang revealed that new-generation artists Rhydian Vaughan (鳳小岳), Fang Wu (吳汶芳), and Arrow Wei (魏嘉瑩) will reinterpret Teresa Teng's (鄧麗君) classic melodies. Teresa Teng, born in Yunlin County's Baozhong Township (褒忠鄉), has been celebrated annually since 2018 with a memorial concert on Jan. 29, which is designated as "Teresa Teng Day."

Deputy Magistrate Chen Pi-chun (陳璧君) highlighted that the concert is not only a tribute to Teresa Teng, but also aims to evoke the emotions and memories of Teresa Teng's era using modern voices. Teng Yung-chia (鄧永佳), CEO of the Teresa Teng Foundation (鄧麗君文教基金會), encouraged audiences to attend the concert and experience the timeless appeal of Teresa Teng's music. Teng Yung-chia said that Teresa Teng's music transcends race and age.

The Yunlin County Cultural and Tourism Department (文化觀光處) announced plans for live performances and stage visuals to immerse the audience in the era Teng's music shaped, showcasing music's profound cultural power. The concert will be free, with tickets available starting Jan. 13 at noon via the OPENTIX cultural platform.
