TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Fuzhou Sea Knights (福州海俠隊) announced on Monday (Jan. 12) the decision to postpone the debut of former MLB pitcher Tsao Chin-hui (曹錦輝), originally scheduled for Tuesday (Jan. 13). The team stated that Tsao, known for his powerful 151 km/h fastball even at 44 years old, needed more time to adjust his condition before facing the Xiamen Dolphins (廈門海豚隊).
Tsao, a Taiwanese pitcher celebrated as a "genius pitcher," did not appear on the final list of 28 Taiwanese players for the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPB, 中國棒球城市聯賽) draft this year. Despite earlier interest, he was not selected. The Sea Knights registered him as a new player, following league rules, after an injured player could not continue this season.
The Sea Knights expressed gratitude to their fans for their support and patience, announcing the delay on their official social media channels. The team has not yet provided a new date for Tsao's first appearance, leaving fans eager for updates on when they can expect to see him take the mound.
