TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The New Taipei Kings (新北國王) of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL, 台灣職籃) announced Wednesday (Jan. 21) the addition of two South Korean cheerleaders, Kim Tae-rin (金泰琳) and Lee Jeong-yoon (李貞潤), to their cheerleading squad, the NEW TAIPEI QUEENS. The two Korean performers will join fellow South Korean cheerleader Eunbi Jeon (全恩菲) to form the squad's 'Three Pillars' lineup, marking a significant expansion of Korean talent on the team.
Kim, known for her 'girl-next-door' image, stands at 165 centimeters (5 feet 5 inches) and has extensive stage experience. She impressed Taiwanese fans during the 2024 World Baseball Classic at the Taipei Dome, leaving a lasting impression with her enthusiastic performances. Kim stated that she was deeply moved by the passion of Taiwanese fans and expressed gratitude for the warm reception she received during her previous appearances in Taiwan.
Lee, known in South Korea as the "all-around goddess," has performed at professional baseball, basketball, and volleyball events. She expressed excitement about joining the Queens, saying that she looks forward to bringing her unique style to the team. The NEW TAIPEI QUEENS' 'Three Pillars' will debut at the Kings' upcoming home games, with the team inviting fans to witness their performances. ◼
