TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) departed Taiwan on Monday morning (Feb. 2), leaving the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (台北文華東方酒店) in Taipei for Taipei Songshan Airport, a domestic and regional hub in the capital. The AI chip giant's leader greeted a crowd of well-wishers with a warm smile and outstretched hands before his departure. Huang concluded an extended visit focused on celebrating the Lunar New Year and recognizing Taiwan's semiconductor supply chain partners.
Huang signed several baseballs for fans requesting autographs before his departure. When someone asked him to sign a wallet, he quipped, "Every wallet I sign, I take money out. What do you think? Good idea, right? Nothing is free." The CEO's sense of humor added a lighthearted touch to his farewell, delighting the crowd gathered outside the hotel.
Huang stated his trip to Taiwan was solely to celebrate the Lunar New Year and acknowledge the exceptional performance of Taiwan's supply chain partners. He specifically praised companies including Foxconn (鴻海), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電), and Wistron (緯創). Before entering his vehicle, Huang wished everyone prosperity, saying, "This year is going to be a very good year, it's the year of the horse." He added, "It's the Year of the Horse — so let's gallop straight to prosperity!" (今年是馬年.所以大家馬上賺錢!) ◼
