TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's bustling night markets provide a unique cultural experience, particularly during the Lunar New Year. Visitors gather to savor diverse culinary delights and traditional snacks, though some vendors may have limited hours during the holiday.

Raohe Night Market (饒河夜市), in Songshan District (松山區), is renowned for its Michelin-recommended street food. Tourists frequently photograph the market's entrance, featuring a traditional Chinese gate and an owl totem. Nearby, Songshan Ciyou Temple (松山慈祐宮) enhances the area's cultural appeal.

In Datong District (大同區), Ningxia Night Market (寧夏夜市) draws food lovers with a 4.2-star Google rating. The Thousand-Year Banquet (千歲宴) unites vendors with over 50 years of history, offering a table-style dining experience. The vendors' combined ages exceed 1,000 years, featuring several Michelin-recommended snacks, making it a must-visit for culinary adventurers.

Shilin Night Market (士林夜市), Taipei's largest, offers diverse food in Shilin District (士林區). Visitors enjoy Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken (豪大大雞排), grilled skewers, Shilin Sausage (士林大香腸), and Chung Chia Sheng Jian Bao (鍾記原上海生煎包). Linjiang Street Night Market (臨江街夜市), or Tonghua Night Market (通化夜市), in Da'an District (大安區), is famed for affordable eats, Michelin-recommended snacks, and glimpses into Hakka (客家) culture and fashion.

Dalong Street Night Market (大龍街夜市), in Datong District (大同區), offers traditional eateries and Confucian cuisines. Near Confucius Temple (孔廟) and Baoan Temple (保安宮), it provides Taiwanese breakfast options in the morning and traditional snacks like braised pork rice and goose meat in the evening.

Monga Night Market (艋舺夜市), combining Guangzhou (廣州), Wuzhou (梧州), and Xichang (西昌) Street markets, is the largest in Wanhua District (萬華區), highlighting rich cultural heritage and diverse culinary offerings. Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market (華西街觀光夜市), near Longshan Temple (龍山寺), is Taiwan's first tourist night market, known for mountain and seafood snacks and health-conscious snake dishes. Traditional architecture and red lanterns enhance its unique atmosphere, with many vendors having over 30 years of history.
