TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tourism Bureau (觀光署) announced on Tuesday (Feb. 10) that it will release a limited edition "Taiwan PASS Lantern Festival Edition" on Saturday (Feb. 14), aiming to attract more tourists to the Taiwan Lantern Festival. The festival will take place in Chiayi County from March 3-15, featuring a main exhibition area and a county government exhibition area.
Tourists who purchase this pass from Saturday to March 15 will receive complimentary tickets to attractions in Chiayi, encouraging them to explore beyond the festival. The Tourism Bureau hopes this initiative will extend trips into a "3 days, 2 nights in-depth domestic travel," boosting local accommodation, dining, and spending, thereby enhancing the overall tourism benefits of the festival. Since its launch in 2024, Taiwan PASS has sold over 33,000 sets, showcasing its convenience as a multi-use ticket.
