TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Previous Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) submitted a request on Tuesday (March 3) to the Prosecutors Evaluation Committee (法務部檢察官評鑑委員會). He urged an assessment of Taipei District Prosecutors Office (台北地檢署) Chief Prosecutor Wang Chun-li (王俊力), Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Prosecutor Chiang Chen-yu (江貞諭), and New Taipei District Prosecutors Office Chief Prosecutor Lin Chun-yen (林俊言).

Ko accused Lin of threatening him during Sheen Ching-Jing's (沈慶京) hospitalization, alleging that the prosecutor aimed to damage his reputation. He criticized the legitimacy of Taiwan's judicial system, claiming that systemic issues could erode public trust. He alleged that the prosecutors mishandled the Core Pacific City case (京華城案), accusing Lin of manipulating evidence and misleading the court.

Ko stated, "If prosecutors violate the law, it is not just an individual's wrongdoing but a national institutional problem." He also criticized the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for leaking information to specific media outlets, which he claimed violated the Code of Conduct for the Office of the Prosecutor (檢察官倫理規範). He further alleged that prosecutors coerced witnesses into giving false testimony and accused Lin of publicly lying.

Ko highlighted the unprecedented scale of witness summons, with over 200 individuals called, and accused the ruling Democratic Progressive Party of fostering a "green terror." He said Lin conducted surprise interrogations without legal counsel present, forcing confessions from civil servants and intimidating individuals like Chu Yea-hu (朱亞虎) over lawful political donations.

Last June, TPP Chairman Huang Kuo-chang (黃國昌) questioned Justice Minister Cheng Ming-chien (鄭銘謙) in the legislature, sparking controversy. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office summoned Huang on Tuesday after he had criticized Cheng for targeting whistleblowers instead of addressing prosecutorial misconduct. Huang played a recording, referred to as a "demonstration tape," during a legislative session on June 16, 2025, prompting Cheng to call for adherence to legal standards.
