TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A cold air mass will bring mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies across Taiwan on Saturday (March 14), with temperatures dropping to around 10 degrees Celsius (50°F) in some areas early morning due to radiative cooling, WeatherRisk (天氣風險), a private weather forecasting company, forecasts. The northeast and eastern windward areas will experience more cloud cover throughout the day as the cold front moves across the region.
Daytime temperatures will rise to 20-22 degrees Celsius (68-71.6°F) in the north and northeast and 22-26 degrees Celsius (71.6-78.8°F) in the central and southern regions. The mid-to-high-level trough will move away on Sunday (March 15), with an anticyclone centered over the Taiwan Strait. The northeast and eastern areas will see slightly more clouds and sporadic short showers in some locations.
Sunday's temperatures will rise slightly, reaching 22-24 degrees Celsius (71.6-75.2°F) in the north and east and 24-27 degrees Celsius (75.2-80.6°F) in the central and southern parts. The temperature difference between day and night could exceed 10 degrees Celsius (18°F). Taiwan will remain under a high-pressure ridge by Monday (March 16), with increased moisture along the northern coast, northeast, and east, bringing mostly cloudy weather with brief showers while other areas stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy.
Weather experts say the weekend will be ideal for outdoor activities, with stable weather and only brief rain in some eastern areas. From Monday to Thursday, Taiwan will experience dry conditions, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and gradually warming temperatures. The weather will remain dry and warm through the week, offering pleasant conditions for outdoor plans. ◼
