TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kenangan Coffee, Indonesia's largest coffee chain, will open its first Taiwan store at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A11 (新光三越A11) in Taipei's Xinyi District (信義區) on Friday (April 10), the company announced at an opening ceremony on Tuesday (April 7). The chain, which became Southeast Asia's first retail unicorn in 2021, plans to expand to Zhongli and Taoyuan by mid-May.
To celebrate the launch, Kenangan Coffee will offer a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on all beverages from Friday to Sunday, including the limited-time Pistachio Macchiato. App members can receive two exclusive vouchers daily. The chain will introduce the Indonesian specialty Palm Sugar Latte and Taiwan-exclusive offerings, including the Light Snow White Latte series.
Established in 2017, Kenangan Coffee now operates more than 1,324 stores globally, including locations in Malaysia and Australia. The coffee beans, sourced from Bali and Sumatra, undergo a high-pressure extraction process using espresso machines. Beverages are available in 12-ounce, 16-ounce and 20-ounce sizes, which convert to approximately 355 ml (12 oz), 473 ml (16 oz) and 591 ml (20 oz). ◼
