TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A fleet of 1,000 drones lit up the skies above Taipei City Hall (台北市政府) and Taipei 101 (台北101) on Tuesday (June 2), as Computex Taipei and InnoVEX staged the city's first large-scale drone light show to mark the opening of Taiwan's premier technology exhibition. The drones formed a series of illuminated images in the night sky, including technology-themed graphics and Computex branding, drawing crowds around Taipei City Hall and Taipei 101.

The 12-minute performance featured technology-themed formations celebrating Taiwan's semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence, transforming Taipei's skyline into a showcase of the country's technological ambitions. Organized by the Taipei Computer Association (TCA, 台北市電腦公會), the event was designed to extend Computex beyond the exhibition halls and into the city, highlighting the show's growing role as an international platform for technology and startup innovation.

The performance was designed by Noki Asia Limited (諾宜亞洲有限公司), which specializes in large-scale immersive experiences and drone productions. Organizers said the show brought together creative teams, government agencies, and technology companies in a cross-sector collaboration. The TCA said the drone show was intended to further raise Taipei's profile as an international technology hub and showcase Taiwan's ability to combine innovation with large-scale public events.

Computex and InnoVEX run through Friday (June 5), bringing together technology companies, startups, investors, and government representatives from around the world. The drone display served as a high-profile opening event for the exhibitions, which this year focus on artificial intelligence, robotics and next-generation computing technologies.
