TAIPEI (TVBS News) — AET SustainTek (宇沛永續), a subsidiary of AUO Group (友達集團), unveiled its latest AI-powered smart manufacturing and energy management services at SEMICON 2026 on Wednesday (Sept. 2), highlighting technologies aimed at improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions across the semiconductor industry.
AET SustainTek showcased its automated optical inspection (AOI) system, which conducts comprehensive inspections of wafers during grinding and after cleaning. The system supports 100% inspection coverage and provides real-time data feedback to improve quality control and manufacturing efficiency.
The company also demonstrated an AIoT-based equipment management system that analyzes equipment health and can provide status updates within 10 minutes. AET SustainTek said the system can reduce unplanned downtime by more than 30%, improving production efficiency and equipment reliability.
For energy management, AET SustainTek has integrated its ACA carbon management platform with energy-saving services provided through its energy service company (ESCO) business. The company said it has completed more than 100 energy-efficiency projects, saving about 130 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
AET SustainTek has also partnered with Acer to invest in H2Harvest Corporation (氫禾低碳股份有限公司), a company developing ammonia-to-hydrogen power generation technologies. The companies stated that they aim to develop low-carbon power solutions that can strengthen energy resilience and help reduce emissions across the semiconductor supply chain.
