TAIPEI (TVBS News) — In a dramatic rescue operation, the New Taipei City Fire Department saved eight stranded divers swept out to sea near the Bat Cave in Ruifang District on Wednesday (July 5). 

Ten divers were swept out to the sea at around 2 p.m. when the department received a distress call from a concerned citizen reporting the divers' predicament. Immediately upon receiving the report, emergency responders sprang into action, dispatching boats to the scene. 

 

Fortunately, two male divers managed to swim ashore unassisted, easing concerns about their safety. The maritime patrol personnel rescued the remaining four men and four women, who swiftly brought them back to shore.

All ten individuals involved in the incident were reported to be in good health and free from harm after their harrowing experience at sea. Once safely back at the Shen'ao Pier, the group expressed relief and gratitude for the timely rescue efforts.

The New Taipei City Fire Department and maritime patrol personnel displayed good coordination and professionalism in the face of this challenging rescue operation. Their swift actions and expertise ensured all the divers' safe return, ending the maritime ordeal.
