TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je asserted on Sunday (Oct. 15) that the Kuomintang (KMT) has no intention to cooperate for the 2024 election, instead aiming to display its regional organizational strength.
At his book launch event earlier that day, Ko contended that the KMT had purposely proposed a challenging open primary to decide the "strongest opposition candidate" under the TPP-KMT election alliance opportunity.
Ko further took a swipe at KMT's presidential hopeful, Hou Yu-ih, saying, "You would not win even if you were given the opportunity to run (the election)."
Asked if there would be another meeting, Ko responded that each party had a favorable opinion, hoping the KMT would propose an alternative solution.
In his remarks, Ko reiterated his dedication to a rational, pragmatic, and scientific approach toward achieving the most efficient and successful collaboration.
