TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Malaysian singer Hsu Chia-ling, 26, was tragically killed on Monday (Dec. 18) in an incident involving an obsessed fan, according to police reports on Wednesday (Dec. 20).
The 44-year-old fan, whose advances had been repeatedly rejected by Hsu for two years, had arranged a lunch date with her at a Batu Tinggi restaurant on Monday.
An altercation occurred in the alley behind the restaurant after the meal, during which Hsu suffered eight knife wounds, including one to her heart, leading to her immediate death.
Hsu, who had plans to marry her boyfriend next year, had reluctantly agreed to meet the fan. After the attack, the assailant transported Hsu's body to his home, where he was apprehended by the police.
