TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) reported frost at the Yushan Weather Station (玉山氣象站) as temperatures hit 0.4 degrees Celsius early Tuesday (Nov. 26). Clear skies accompanied a visibility of 35 kilometers, with south-southwest winds averaging 2.7 meters per second and gusts reaching 13.1 meters per second, said the CWA.

The CWA explained that frost forms through a process similar to dew, occurring when moisture-laden air encounters a cold surface, leading to sublimation. This natural phenomenon graced Yushan's landscape as meteorological conditions aligned perfectly.

The CWA warned that a weather front approached Taiwan after nightfall Monday, signaling a strengthening northeast monsoon. This change will lead to cooler conditions in northern and northeastern regions, with occasional short showers expected in northern and eastern parts of the island.

Residents should prepare for the chill and ensure adequate warmth as the cold front makes its presence felt. The CWA's advisory highlights the importance of staying informed and ready for shifting weather patterns in the coming days.
