TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A stunning view was visible Sunday (Jan. 7) morning as an arc-shaped cloud system appeared in the sky over Yushan under the early morning sunlight.

Former Central Weather Bureau Director-General Cheng Ming-dean shared a photograph of the beautiful Yushan landscape on his Facebook fan page. He analyzed the cloud system, air flow changes, and the effect of the sun on the scenery.

Cheng pointed out, "The right side is a high cumulus cloud, while on the left edge different airflows meet, forming an arc-shaped interface. Under the morning sunlight, color changes are creating a truly natural beauty," he couldn't help exclaiming, "natural is indeed best!"

As for Sunday's weather situation, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) noted cooler temperatures in the morning and evening due to the effect of the northeast monsoon. Local brief showers were expected in the eastern part of Taiwan and on the Hengchun Peninsula, with sporadic brief showers in the south, while other areas, including Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, were expected to be partly sunny.

Additionally, the CWA issued a cold weather advisory at 10:15 a.m. for Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, and Nantou County, reminding residents to keep warm and be aware of temperature differences between day and night.
