TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Global media attention converged on the 2024 presidential and legislative elections in Taiwan, with journalists from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and Switzerland flocking to the nation for comprehensive coverage. 

TVBS News, known for its balanced and credible reporting, played a central role in this international partnership, drawing a record-breaking viewership of 9.46 million during its exclusive election special, "Decisive Battle 2024," from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on election day. 

 

This significant moment in Taiwan's broadcast history solidified TVBS's dominance in both the local and global media landscape.

Int'l Media Collaborate with TVBS for Extensive Election Coverage
International media outlets collaborated extensively with TVBS News, highlighting the broadcaster's global credibility. TVBS assembled a robust "vote-reporting team" of nearly 4,000 members and set up ten thousand polling stations to ensure precise and timely vote counting. 

 
The YouTube livestream of the vote counting attracted over 175,000 simultaneous viewers, a testament to TVBS's meticulous approach and wide acclaim. Prominent broadcasters like Japan's NHK Television and Singapore's Channel News Asia established a presence at TVBS headquarters, enhancing their reporting capabilities.
 
Malaysia's Sin Chew Daily and China Press utilized TVBS's real-time vote-counting footage, while Australia's SBS Public Television's Chinese channel and Switzerland's RSI collaborated with TVBS for live broadcasts and in-depth coverage, respectively. Zee NEWS Group's "WION" partnered with TVBS's English news division, providing live updates and geopolitical analyses.

TVBS English News Provides In-Depth Analysis of Post-Election Taiwan
