TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Under blocked budget proposals, Chiang Wan-an said Monday (Jan. 29) he will continue to enhance communication with the council.

Chiang's campaign promises, including the "Taipei International Music Festival" (台北國際潮流音樂節) and the proposal for free 30-minute YouBike rides, failed to pass.

The budget proposals for the Taipei City Police Department's surveillance transmission fee and the Taipei Zoo were also not approved.

Speaking to reporters, Chiang expressed his hopes that during the negotiation process, council members could fully understand the purpose of the budget plans. He said he would humbly accept the views of the councilors and make suitable adjustments.

Chiang reiterated his commitment to better communication with the council, especially regarding the policies proposed during the election period: the music festival and the YouBike free service.

Chiang expressed gratitude for the various recommendations proposed by the councilors during the budget review process, affirming them with a positive attitude. He said the city government departments will be open-minded and make appropriate adjustments.
