TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) legislative speaker and deputy speaker candidates Han Kuo-yu and Johnny Chiang visited the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) caucus on Monday (Jan. 29), due to the party's control of eight crucial seats.

During the visit, Han demonstrated a harmonious atmosphere with TPP legislator Huang Kuo-chang, even sharing a warm embrace.

Following the visit, Han stated that they and the eight TPP legislators were classmates in the same session, expressing hope for a joint push for parliamentary reform to meet public expectations.

Han and Chiang held a wide-ranging discussion, emphasizing that their exchange was not about profit but born of a sincere anticipation for parliamentary reform.

Huang considered his communication with Han and Chiang as a healthy and beneficial interaction, denying any "private council" or "backroom dealing."

The topics discussed did not touch on any single draft system but focused solely on the four reform opinions proposed by the TPP.

TPP spokesperson Christina Yang announced that after the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) legislative leader candidates are confirmed, the TPP will also invite them for discussions at their headquarters.
