TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Influenced by the northeast monsoon, northern and northeastern Taiwan experienced temperatures between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius on Friday (Feb. 16), according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA). However, a warm-up is expected over the weekend.

Starting from Sunday, with only a smattering of brief showers expected on the east coast and Hengchun Peninsula, the weather will trend towards being excessively warm. Meteorological experts suggest that due to the warm south winds affecting the region next week, the weather is expected to become stable and clear with summery high temperatures likely to exceed 30 degrees Celsius.

The CWA predicts that the next front will approach by Wednesday next week, which will likely bring a rise in moisture in eastern regions and mountain areas of the north, causing brief, localized showers. The weather in other areas will range from partly cloudy to clear.

In the next week, right until a new front approaches from the north leading to a change in the weather, the overall climate will lean towards being warm. It would be a good time to make the most of the sunshine during this period.
