TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Japan's Yomiuri Giants played exhibition games in Taiwan last weekend, setting audience records at Taipei Dome, attracting 30,890 attendance during the matchup on Sunday (March. 3) against the Rakuten Monkeys and marking the second-highest attendance in the Dome's history.

Meanwhile, the record holder for the most-attended game in the Dome's history is still a match between the Giants and the CTBC Brothers, which took place on March 2, drawing an audience of 37,890.

President Tsai Ing-wen also took to social media X in Japanese to commend the Yomiuri Giants' efforts in marking their 90th anniversary this year, praising the Giants for visiting Taiwan and suggesting "these baseball games help improve bilateral friendships between Taiwan and Japan."

According to Key Point Insight into Big Data's public sentiment analysis system, protracted dialogues about the Giants achieved its peak on March 3, with a volume of 13,826 discussions between Feb. 26 and March. 3.
