TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Korean pop star IU had a sell-out moment Wednesday (March 6) when the tickets for her upcoming concert in Taipei sold out in under a minute. The demand far exceeded the 20,000 tickets available, with an estimated 700,000 fans attempting to purchase simultaneously.

The "2024 IU H.E.R. WORLD TOUR CONCERT" marked IU's return to Taipei after a four-year hiatus. Fans are excited for her performances scheduled for April 6 and 7 at the Taipei Arena.

The extreme demand crashed the ticketing platform KKTIX, a testament to IU's immense popularity not just in Korea, but also in Taiwan. The promoters clarified that there wouldn't be any additional shows. However, at 7 p.m., they will "clear the tickets," offering another chance for disappointed fans.

In an effort to combat scalping, the concert will use real-name ticketing. Organizers called upon the audience not to share their personal information with strangers. Any returned tickets or those that violate the real-name policy will be released at an unspecified time by KKTIX. Fans were advised to check Kuan's International's Facebook page for updates.

IU kicked off her '2024 IU H.E.R. WORLD TOUR CONCERT' in Seoul on March 2. She delivered riveting performances of several songs, including all the tracks from her latest mini-album 'The Winning,' and unplugged versions of her most popular hits, filling up a four-hour set.
