Taiwan faces frigid weather in 8 regions: CWA (TVBS News)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) —The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported on Friday (March 8) that a strong continental cold wave is affecting the nation. Frigid weather impacts Taiwan as the cold wave may result in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in eight cities and counties.

According to weather expert Lin Te-en, the powerful cold air could escalate, and the continental cold air mass could transform into a cold stream.

Lin added that temperatures in the northern, northeastern, and eastern regions would not surpass 18 degrees Celsius today.

The south and central regions will likely experience slightly warmer temperatures ranging from 20 to 24 degrees. The strongest impact from the cold air is expected tonight till Saturday morning.

Lin warned that if the weather progresses to a cold air mass, temperatures in the north and northeast may drop to around 10 degrees Celsius, with other areas experiencing drops to between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius.

The CWA revealed in its weather report that temperatures might slightly rise on Sunday, as the effects of the continental cold wave or cold stream weaken. However, this warming trend is short, with temperatures slated to decline again on Monday.
