TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A documentary, "Taiwan in Transition" (變局下的台灣), led by Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), is set to explore Taiwan's transformation from an isolated island nation to "the world's Taiwan" (世界的台灣). The documentary, featuring interviews with international politicians and scholars, aims to analyze Taiwan's role and impact amid the global turmoil of the past eight years.

A Deep Dive into Taiwan's Global Stance

"Taiwan in Transition" delves into critical moments such as Taiwan's challenges with COVID-19 vaccines and the visit of former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. President Tsai shares the decision-making processes during these pivotal times, offering viewers an inside look at Taiwan's strategic moves on the global stage. The documentary also reveals Tsai's profound friendship with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's founder, Morris Chang (張忠謀), and the tough decisions behind the push for same-sex marriage legislation.

Produced by screenwriter Cheng Hsin-mei, directed by up-and-coming director Su I-hsuan, and in collaboration with producer Inch Lin, the documentary showcases Taiwan's international image and transformation. It features insights from nearly 30 influential figures, including U.S. Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul and President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil, providing a comprehensive analysis of Taiwan's evolution.
