TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) urged Taiwanese citizens on Friday (June 28) to support the country's power development, emphasizing the significance of this support in ushering in the high-tech era and improving the quality of life.

While visiting the U.S., Taiwan's Economic Minister J.W. Kuo (郭智輝) noted in a press conference with Chinese-language media that nine counties and cities in Taiwan are vying for investments from AMD (超微) and NVIDIA (輝達). However, he pointed out a paradox: Taiwanese people want AI but are unwilling to build power plants.

Premier Cho stated that Taiwan Power Company (台電) has detailed plans and will provide maximum oversight and management of the projects. He expressed hope that the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部) would take on more responsibility to ensure the timely completion of the under-construction power plants.

The premier emphasized that everything will proceed according to the power development plan to ensure a stable power supply for the people, and provide maximum security for the industry.
